Roofing Crew Images If you have arrived here at Roofing Crew you either have a roofing problem that needs to be solved or you are trying to avoid having a problem to solve. Either way, you have come to the right place. Nobody ever wants to have roofing problems, so we just wanted to give you some tips on how to think about your roof and what to look out for when you have potential roof damage

One of the first things is, your roof will not last forever. With proper maintenance, it will last a very long time, but depending on the type of roof you have, you can expect about 20-30 years if it is an asphalt roof and longer if it is a metal roof. With that said, we do not advise anyone to wait years before they check on the lifeline of their roof. The only leeway we would give you is if the roof is brand new and/or just replaced. Even then we would suggest that you check on it. Of Course, we know it is not the first thing on your list to fix or even think about, but if you should have any type of major roof damage it will certainly change your mind after.

Next up is your shingles. As you may or may not know your shingles tell the story whether it is a good one or a bad one. Being a Sevierville roofing contractor for many years we have seen the best, the worst and the ugly. Unless there is a major weather storm most roof damage happens over time. For instance, you would not consider one missing shingle a big deal when all the other shingles are there. That could not be further from the truth. That one missing shingle if not repaired will eventually cause water to get underneath those roofing layers and eventually rot out the wood and that is when you get a big hole in your roof. Sure this will not happen overnight, but the mere fact that it could happen should be enough to scare you straight.

With any type of home maintenance, it is best to be proactive. The best thing you can do in life is to stay on top of things. We know that is easier said than done when life pulls and pushes you in all types of directions. Thus, set out to maintain things on a schedule. For instance, you should schedule a roof inspection every year just to be safe. This could save you thousands of dollars in the long run and give you peace of mind. Most roofing companies do not even charge for roof inspection so that a win-win for you. If you want to take it a step further, you can periodically look out for missing or bulging shingles yourself. Missing shingles do not often go to far from the house so you would be able to spot them fast and depending on the roofing angle you might have a good view to spot something out of place without breaking out the ladder.

Our goal was to give you some tips and some things to think about when it comes to roofing and ways to maintain it. Feel free to reach us if you have any question or want to schedule a roof inspection.
